Private Medical Secretary and Administrator Job

Spire Healthcare is a leading independent hospital group with 39 hospitals, 10 clinics, and a Specialist Cancer Care Centre across England, Wales, and Scotland.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Private Medical Secretary and Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to consultants and medical teams, ensuring smooth clinic processes and patient care.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.

We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage outpatient bookings, clinic letters, and correspondence
  • Liaise with private and NHS patients on a daily basis, handling queries and arranging admissions as required
  • Liaise with insurance companies and other external agencies
  • Produce clinic letters, operation notes, and correspondence
  • Accurately and timely invoice and track payments for insured and self-pay patients
  • Arrange completion of claim forms with relevant consultants and ensure financial paperwork is up-to-date
Requirements
  • Good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy skills
  • Track record of successful delivery in a similar role with experience in administrative duties
  • Previous experience in an identical or similar role is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
