Clinical Psychologist

The Principal Clinical Psychologist will lead the development of a culturally competent Psychological Therapy Service for individuals at risk of mental states (ARMS) and those experiencing first episode psychosis (FEP). The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of psychological interventions within the Early Intervention Team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead the development of a culturally competent Psychological Therapy Service for ARMS and FEP.
- Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to ensure effective delivery of psychological interventions within the Early Intervention Team.
- Provide specialist expertise in managing complex and challenging cases, service development, evaluation, and quality improvement.
- Ensure the Early Intervention Service is responsive to the needs of the local community and delivers high standards of care.
- Doctorate level training in clinical psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Accredited membership of an appropriate psychological therapy professional body.
- Additional further training and qualifications in therapeutic models, psychometric assessment tools, and supervision.
- Experience working with complex service users, engaging with ethnic minority communities, and applying psychological therapy in diverse cultural contexts.
- Competence in providing training on cultural competence and sensitivity to clinical staff.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating mental health services, with a focus on accessibility and effectiveness for diverse populations.
- Highly developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific difficult-to-treat groups.
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of highly specialised psychological therapies and assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with computing technology, including spreadsheets and databases.
- Proficiency in implementing evidence-based psychological therapies for psychosis.
