Job Title: Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to lead the development of a culturally competent Psychological Therapy Service for individuals at risk of mental states (ARMS) and those experiencing first episode psychosis (FEP).

About the Role:
  • Lead the development of a culturally competent Psychological Therapy Service for individuals at risk of mental states (ARMS) and those experiencing first episode psychosis (FEP).
  • Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of psychological interventions within the Early Intervention Team.
  • Provide specialist expertise in managing complex and challenging cases, service development, evaluation, and quality improvement to meet the unique needs of an ethnically diverse local population.
  • Facilitate increased uptake of psychological interventions and improved outcomes.
  • Play a crucial role in ensuring that the Early Intervention Service is responsive to the needs of the local community and delivers high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement culturally sensitive psychological interventions for individuals with ARMS and FEP.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective service delivery and coordination.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Provide supervision and training to junior staff members.
  • Contribute to service development and evaluation, including the design and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate level training in clinical psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and lifespan developmental psychology.
  • Accredited membership of an appropriate psychological therapy professional body.
  • Experience of working with diverse client groups, including those from ethnic minority backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of contemporary legislation relating to mental health services and its implications for clinical practice and professional management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with service users, families, and other professionals.
