Job Title: Principal Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Clinical Psychologist to lead the development of a culturally competent Psychological Therapy Service for individuals at risk of mental states (ARMS) and those experiencing first episode psychosis (FEP).

About the Role

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of psychological interventions within the Early Intervention Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of a culturally competent Psychological Therapy Service for ARMS and FEP.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of psychological interventions.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based psychological therapies for psychosis.
  • Provide consultation to other professionals, including medical staff and non-professional groups.
  • Provide complex clinical and professional supervision, including medical staff.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate mental health services, with a focus on accessibility and effectiveness for diverse populations.
Requirements
  • Doctorate level training in clinical psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and lifespan developmental psychology.
  • Accredited membership of an appropriate psychological therapy professional body.
  • Experience of working with service users who are complex within a community and/or acute care pathway.
  • Experience in engaging with ethnic minority communities to understand their needs, reduce stigma, and improve access to mental health services.
  • Experience of the application of psychological therapy in diverse cultural and ethnic contexts.
  • Highly developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific difficult to treat groups.
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of highly specialised psychological therapies and assessment methodologies.
