Job Title: Principal Clinical Psychologist for Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Clinical Psychologist to join our Learning Disability Care Hub team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating service development and engagement, working closely with other Clinical Psychologists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality psychological services to adults with learning disabilities.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative team, promoting trauma-informed care and coproduction with people with lived experience. The postholder will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating service development and engagement across the Learning Disability Care Hub
  • Providing clinical supervision to psychologists and other professionals
  • Developing and delivering training on clinical interventions and psychological therapies
  • Managing demand for psychological services and supporting other professionals in their provision of direct psychosocial work
  • Staying up-to-date with national and regional legislation, guidance, and policy directives in relation to psychological therapies with people with learning disabilities

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996
  • Current registration as a clinical psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Demonstrable experience of providing clinical supervision, teaching/training, and managing demand for psychological services
  • Knowledge of national and regional legislation, guidance, and policy directives in relation to psychological therapies with people with learning disabilities
