About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Principal Clinical Psychologist. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of a culturally competent Psychological Therapy Service for individuals at risk of mental states (ARMS) and those experiencing first episode psychosis (FEP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of a culturally competent Psychological Therapy Service for ARMS and FEP.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of psychological interventions within the Early Intervention Team.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based psychological therapies for psychosis, including CBTp and family interventions.
  • Provide complex clinical and professional supervision to medical staff and other professionals.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate mental health services with a focus on accessibility and effectiveness for diverse populations.
  • Represent psychology within the context of multidisciplinary care and develop research and development programmes within psychological therapy services.
Requirements
  • Doctorate level training in clinical psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and lifespan developmental psychology.
  • Accredited membership of an appropriate psychological therapy professional body.
  • Experience of working with service users who are complex within a community and/or acute care pathway.
  • Experience in engaging with ethnic minority communities to understand their needs, reduce stigma, and improve access to mental health services.
  • Experience of providing training on cultural competence and sensitivity to clinical staff.
  • Highly developed knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific difficult to treat groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, highly technical and clinically sensitive information to service users, their families, carers, and other professional colleagues.
