About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Culinary Care Specialist to join our team at Methodist Homes. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality meals for our residents.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the efficiency, hygiene, and safety in the catering area, while ensuring all legislative standards are met. You will prepare, cook, and serve meals for residents on a daily basis, respecting their rights to privacy, dignity, and choice.

You will also plan menus to provide nutritionally balanced and attractive meals, taking into account any special diets. An experienced caterer is required, with good planning, budgeting, and stock control abilities.

Taking stock of ingredients and creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh is a key aspect of this role. You will work closely with other members of the kitchen team to deliver excellent results and maintain a positive working environment.

  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Able to work under pressure whilst using creativity in preparing meals
  • Ability to think about multiple tasks simultaneously and understand kitchen workflow
  • Experience in cooking to budgets and maintaining a high level of quality
  • Leadership skills to motivate the kitchen team
