Academics, a leading educational institution in Newbury, is seeking an experienced Student Mental Health Assistant to provide high-quality support to students with Complex Learning Disabilities and significant Mental, Social and Emotional Needs.

The ideal candidate will have excellent behaviour management skills, education surrounding Special Educational Needs, and experience working with children who display challenging behaviour. As a Student Mental Health Assistant, you will work closely with qualified therapists, behaviour consultants, and psychologists to gain a deeper understanding of how to communicate, regulate, and advocate for children in the SEN community.

The role involves providing 1-1 support to students and participating in small groups who require additional assistance throughout the school day. You will be responsible for creating a safe and supportive learning environment, promoting positive relationships, and encouraging students to reach their full potential.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. The successful applicant will have a strong ability to communicate effectively, build rapport with students, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
