Senior Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Development Manager to join our team at LWS Recruitment Services Ltd. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and development across our construction division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities and projects.
  • Manage a direct report and provide guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of commercial projects.
  • Provide regular updates on customer performance and pipeline progress to stakeholders.
  • Ensure clients have a thorough understanding of our services and technical capabilities.
  • Work closely with account managers, admin staff, and operations partners to ensure seamless handovers and delivery of services.
  • Implement regular price reviews to reflect changing market conditions and customer needs.
  • Convert quote and PO arrangements to term contracts for existing and new customers.
  • Present and write commercial proposals, quotations, and specifications to customers.
  • Manage the tender process, reviewing documents, writing tenders, and undertaking financial analysis.
  • Source and arrange bulk transport to meet client logistics requirements.
  • Update CRM and pipelines to maintain accurate opportunity forecasts and progress.
  • Lead and participate in marketing activities to promote our services.
  • Cross-sell our other services to existing customers.
  • Stay up-to-date with market and competitor activities.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of delivering profitable new business and high levels of customer service.
  • Logistics knowledge and experience in booking transport.
  • Understanding of H&S industry environmental and compliance knowledge of contaminated soils within construction waste.
  • Ability to cold call, negotiate, and execute deals at strategic and transactional levels.
  • Significant experience in managing business processes and projects.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Computer literate with experience of CRM software and MS Office.
  • Ability to juggle multiple prospects while maintaining attention to detail.
Essential:
  • Technical understanding of soil chemistry.
  • Previous experience in construction or demolition waste is essential.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of customer accounts with sales revenue over £1 million per annum.
  • Flexibility to work overnight stays, early starts, and late finishes as required.
  • Understanding of commercial concepts and technical knowledge.
  • Full UK driving licence.
