The Opportunity:

We seek an HR expert to oversee the HR function across multiple sites, providing guidance on policies, procedures, employment legislation, employee relations, recruitment, engagement, performance management, training, development, statutory compliance, organizational design, and talent management.

  • You will adopt an HR business partner approach, delivering high-quality HR services to all sites within your remit.
  • As a trusted advisor, you will provide proactive, effective, and efficient HR advice, coaching, and guidance to senior management, line managers, and staff in a multi-site unionized environment.
  • Working closely with site leadership teams, you will develop and drive people plans to foster an engaged and productive workforce.
  • You will achieve both strategic and operational objectives, driving business excellence through HR initiatives.
  • Leading talent mapping, development, succession planning projects, you will ensure they align with business and HR strategies.
  • You will lead and deliver HR projects and change initiatives, ensuring seamless site transitions.
  • As the HR lead for employee engagement and recognition programs, you will promote a positive work culture.
  • You will lead the talent acquisition process, providing HR support for recruitment efforts.
  • You will manage casework (absence, disciplinary, and grievance), ensuring optimal outcomes while mitigating associated risks.
  • You will foster good working relationships with external bodies, exploring funding opportunities for training budgets and collaborating with government agencies.
  • You will lead HR training initiatives, developing skills and knowledge among team members.
  • You will establish and maintain open communication channels with management and employees, actively participating in key meetings.
  • You will analyze and interpret HR KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions.
  • You will drive performance management and appraisal processes, ensuring maximum completion and development plan actioning.
  • You will manage compensation and benefits activities for all sites.

Requirements:

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • You are CIPD qualified or working towards certification.
  • You have good knowledge of UK Employment law.
  • You have experience working in a unionized environment, which is desirable.
  • You possess excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • You have demonstrable communication and influencing skills.
  • You can challenge and debate issues in a constructive manner.
  • You can support empowered employees in a team environment.
  • You have excellent planning and organizational skills.

Salary Range: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum
