Hastings Business Improvement District Job Opportunity

Job Title: Business Improvement District Director

Compensation: $20,000.00 - $24,000.00 per annum

Hours: Average of 10-12 hours per week

Reports to: BID Board of Directors

Job Purpose: The Director will oversee the administration, financial management, and day-to-day activities of the BID, working closely with the BID Board to achieve the organization's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the BID's administrative functions, including updates, project fundraising, record keeping, budget development, and report preparation.
  2. Develop and maintain the BID's website and social media presence to promote downtown Hastings.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with corporate, community, government, and institutional partners to advance the BID's mission and objectives.
  4. Oversee contracts and city services to maintain a safe, well-maintained, and clean environment in downtown Hastings.
  5. Coordinate the annual property assessment process with the City Clerk, City Treasurer, BID Board, and City Council.

Requirements:

Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree or three years of practical experience in business, finance, planning, urban affairs, public policy, community development, or a related field is preferred.

Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, financial management capabilities, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
