Hastings Business Improvement District Job Opportunity
Job Title: Business Improvement District Director
Compensation: $20-$24,000 per year
Hours: Average of 10-12 hours per week
Reports to: BID Board of Directors
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the Hastings Business Improvement District as its Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall administration, financial management, and day-to-day work activities of the BID.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all administrative aspects of the BID, including updates to reflect new initiatives, project fundraising, record keeping, budget development, and preparation of reports.
- Maintain and expand the BID/Downtown website and social media presence.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate, community, government, and institutional partners to advance the BID's mission and objectives.
- Oversee contracts and city services to maintain a safe, well-maintained, and clean environment in downtown Hastings.
- Coordinate the annual property assessment process with the City Clerk, City Treasurer, BID Board, and City Council.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, planning, urban affairs, public policy, community development, or a related field.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent financial management and oversight capabilities.
- Experience in fundraising and grant writing is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
