Job Title: Business Improvement District Director

Compensation: $20-$24,000 per year

Hours: Average of 10-12 hours per week

Reports to: BID Board of Directors

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the Hastings Business Improvement District as its Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall administration, financial management, and day-to-day work activities of the BID.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all administrative aspects of the BID, including updates to reflect new initiatives, project fundraising, record keeping, budget development, and preparation of reports.
  2. Maintain and expand the BID/Downtown website and social media presence.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with corporate, community, government, and institutional partners to advance the BID's mission and objectives.
  4. Oversee contracts and city services to maintain a safe, well-maintained, and clean environment in downtown Hastings.
  5. Coordinate the annual property assessment process with the City Clerk, City Treasurer, BID Board, and City Council.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, planning, urban affairs, public policy, community development, or a related field.
  2. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  3. Excellent financial management and oversight capabilities.
  4. Experience in fundraising and grant writing is a plus.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
