SEN Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated SEN teacher to join our team at an outstanding special school in Streatham, London.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching primary-aged children with severe learning difficulties, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

This is a rewarding role that involves creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement personalized educational programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists, to ensure comprehensive support.
  3. Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes social and emotional growth.
  4. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as needed to optimize outcomes.
  5. Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
  6. Work with and lead a support team within the classroom to provide seamless support.
Requirements
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. Strong knowledge of ASD/SLD and its implications on education.
  3. Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per year
