Reeson Education is seeking a qualified and passionate Specialist Primary SEN Teacher to join an all-through SEN School in Waltham Forest, East London. The school caters for 460 pupils aged 3-16 years with varying levels of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, severe learning difficulties, physical and mobility difficulties, and sensory processing disorders.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Specialist Primary SEN Teacher to plan, develop, and coordinate individual curriculum programmes for students with SLD and Autism in your class. You will implement whole-class and group learning activities, continuously assess pupils' progress towards their specific learning goals, and work collaboratively with a team of highly skilled Teaching Assistants to deliver outstanding learning opportunities.

Your Skills and Qualifications
  • A teaching qualification, such as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent overseas teaching qualification
  • Previous experience of teaching students with SEN, including ASD/Autism, Moderate or Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum

  • Manage the in-class team effectively, directing activity and relaying information from the SLT to your TAs
  • Develop rapport with children with complex autism and other related needs
  • A creative, playful, patient, calm, and fun presence in the classroom
  • Focused on getting the best learning and pastoral outcomes for children with SEN
  • Deal with the physical challenges of the job, including occasional running and physical interventions

We offer a competitive salary package (£40,000 - £60,000 per annum) and a supportive environment for you to grow and develop your skills.
