Job Title: Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Specialty Doctor to join our team in the Department of Ophthalmology. The successful candidate will have a special interest in General Ophthalmology and Non-Surgical Glaucoma.

About the Role:
  • Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical audit.
  • Contribute to the General Ophthalmology and emergency service on the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) site and associated community hospitals.
  • Join an active and enthusiastic team of 27 Ophthalmologists, providing both generalist and sub-specialist Ophthalmology services within the UHL.
Requirements:
  • Already be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of the interview date have a certificate of completion of specialist training.
  • Have at least 4 years full-time post-graduate training or equivalent, at least 2 years as Ophthalmology trainee.
  • Have evidence of personal audit of own surgical outcomes.
  • Have understanding of and commitment to research and evidence-based practice in all aspects of medical care.
  • Have practical experience of participation in research projects.
