Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Fellow in Ophthalmology to join our team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain advanced specialist training in Vitreo-Retinal and work closely with our experienced consultants.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide Ophthalmology services at the University Hospitals of Leicester, with a specialty interest in Vitreo-Retinal.
  • Work flexibly and cooperatively with other Ophthalmologists to maximise the utilisation of theatre lists and outpatient clinics.
  • Ensure the provision of good standards of practice and care, as described in the GMC Guidance 'Duties of a Doctor', are followed at all times.
  • Participate in audit and work with the CBU management team to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and reflect best practice.

Person Specification
  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview.
  • Adequate training in Ophthalmology and excellent clinical skills and experience requisite to meeting all aspects of the Job Plan.
  • Ability to apply sound clinical judgment to problems and demonstrates clear, logical thinking/analytical approach.
