Learning Support Specialist

At 1st Staff, we are seeking an experienced Learning Support Specialist to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and patient individual who can adapt and support learners with special educational needs (SEN) to overcome barriers.
We provide tuition sessions to help students gain confidence and attain the qualifications needed to return to further education. Our tutors benefit from a support network, including a lead tutor, designated safeguarding leads, curriculum leads, behavioural specialist, and Head of Education.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who have SEN/SEMH and challenging behaviour. They must be able to cater lesson plans to individual needs, build rapport with students, and identify existing and potential barriers to learning.
Our tutors can earn up to £25 per hour, with opportunities for additional hours. We offer training and support, resources, assessment tools, and curriculum leads to aid with lesson planning.
Safeguarding is paramount, and successful applicants will undergo an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS. We strive to be an equal opportunities employer, welcoming applications from candidates with suitable skills and ability.
This role involves working in various settings, including schools, local communities, and student homes. The estimated salary for this position is around £20-£25 per hour, depending on experience and location.
