About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Facilities Manager to join our team at Amazon Data Services UK Limited. As a key member of our infrastructure operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centres, providing technical leadership and expertise to our teams, and driving excellence in all aspects of our facilities management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all data centres
  • Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise
  • Maintain existing operational data centres to the highest level of availability
  • Help build and bring online new data centres
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to drive operational excellence
  • Assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors
  • Liaise with internal teams and management groups
  • Create and maintain metrics on data centre performance and utilise them to drive positive changes
  • Assist in implementing service methodologies, including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.

Basic Qualifications
  • Excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data centre operations
  • Proven track record of people management and team development
  • Experience managing SLAs and implementing proactive issue detection and reporting
  • Able to take ownership of technical issues and engage other support teams to drive resolution
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced electrical or mechanical qualification (Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline)
  • Experience working in data centres with an emphasis on building and equipment operation
  • Experience delivering accurate and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries
