Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Assistant to join Aberdeenshire Council on a part-time, permanent basis at Alford Academy Community Campus. The ideal candidate will possess a recognized 'First Aid' qualification and previous experience working with young people.

This role is responsible for undertaking First Aid procedures and providing support to pupils and other individuals within the academy who are unwell, in consultation with other healthcare professionals and parents as necessary.

The successful applicant will be required to maintain a commitment to delivering high-quality service through continuous improvement, benefiting both the Service and the organization.

Please note that this post is subject to regulations under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Overseas Criminal Record Checks may be required if an individual has spent three months or more outside the UK in the last five years.

The position is for term-time work, with 75 hours per week during school and in-service days. Additional hours may be available and must be claimed on a timesheet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake First Aid procedures and provide support to pupils and staff.
  • Consult with healthcare professionals and parents regarding pupil welfare.
  • Maintain a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement.
  • Meet the requirements of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary for this role is £38,000 based on experience and qualifications.
