We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Mentor to join our team in North West London. As a Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting young adults with autism and learning disabilities to achieve their full potential.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team to provide person-centered support to service users, implementing Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) best practices. You will teach functional skills, develop communication systems, and enhance social skills, promoting empowerment and choice.
You will also be responsible for monitoring and recording daily data on service user targets, attending mandatory training, team meetings, and self-directed e-learning modules. Your ability to promote safeguarding and wellbeing to the highest standard will be essential.
Flexibility is key, as you will be required to support service users during evenings and weekends. A clean driver's license and experience working with individuals with autism and learning disabilities are essential requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications- 1 year of applied experience working with individuals with learning disability and/or autism.
- Experience of supporting individuals who are non-verbal, with experience of promoting alternative modes of communication.
- Clean driver's license.
- Fully accredited training and qualifications offered for free after passing probation- including Registered Behaviour Technician training, BCBA and UK-BA clinical supervision, NVQ Level 3/5/7 courses.
