We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Southwark Team for Adults with Learning Disabilities at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with learning disabilities to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

About the Role

\

In this exciting opportunity, you will work alongside occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality occupational therapy interventions, including caseload management, programme implementation, and coordination of team activities. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of community settings, including service users' homes, day care centers, and residential facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement occupational therapy programmes to support adults with learning disabilities
  • Provide guidance and support to service users and their care networks
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of services
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective relationships with service users, carers, and external agencies

Requirements

\

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals with complex communication needs. You should also have a strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and its application in occupational therapy practice.

Salary and Benefits

\

The salary for this position is £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus a range of benefits including flexible working hours, access to internal and external training opportunities, and a comprehensive induction program.
