Job Summary

The Sales Representative is responsible for driving the NGS Sequencing business and MGI automation in the UK in the research and private market (non-IVD). This position will be responsible for developing sales strategies and tactics that achieve the revenue goals of the assigned region through direct channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Seek out new customers and sales opportunities to drive revenue.
  • Regional Business Planning: Develop, implement, and monitor the regional business plan to meet the assigned target of revenue and strategic objectives.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Identify and pursue new business opportunities by researching market trends, establishing relationships with potential clients, and expanding the company's market presence to achieve revenue growth targets.
  • Sales Project Management: Lead and manage critical sales projects from inception to completion, coordinating cross-functional teams, setting project milestones, tracking progress, and ensuring the timely achievement of sales objectives.
  • Revenue Growth: Achieve the quarterly and annual sales and profit plan as assigned.
  • Customer Demand Forecasting: Accurately forecast customer demand (i.e., product quantities and dollars, orders, shipments).
  • Relationship Building: Build long-term relationships with Key contacts at target customers.
  • Lead Generation: Use various lead generation tools to enhance the lead pipeline.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Update the CRM system and manage the sales pipeline by reporting opportunity evolution and probabilities.
  • Event Planning: Initiate promotional events for the company.
  • Trade Show Representation: Represent the company at trade events.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Follow company guidelines/practices/policies and provide timely development plans to correct for underperformance. Be responsible for ensuring that MGI's commitment to customer satisfaction is performed, delivered, and constantly improved.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Drive a high level of interaction and engagement between other departments (e.g., Marketing, Customer Solutions) and local sales team & staff to ensure coordination of activities and alignment on common goals.
  • Confidential Information Management: Handle confidential information: Manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and complies with the organization's policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree or above in a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of sales experience in the Life Science Capex industry or the NGS market.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong motivation and drive to make an impact on the NGS market. Strong technical background in molecular biology and NGS is required. Strong communication skills to internal and external audiences. Sales experience in the research market in the territory. Problem-solving and customer-centric attitude. Patience and the ability to tactfully handle customer negotiations. Professional communication in English, and knowledge of other languages is preferred.
