Job Description: Environmental Topic Lead

NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Environmental Topic Lead to join our Offshore Wind Farm team. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for managing a range of onshore environmental topics through the site selection PEIR, EIA, and DCO application processes.

About the Role
This is a critical delivery position that requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of EIA processes and procedures. You will report to the Project Consent Lead and work closely with the Project DCO Lead and Onshore Consent Manager to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a range of onshore environmental topics, including geology, hydrology, land use, agriculture, and recreation.
2. Ensure adequate recording of site selection and project design decisions as they relate to site selection and consideration of alternatives.
3. Coordinate with external consultants to ensure scope of work, budget, and schedule adherence.
4. Review and manage the deliverables of onshore consultants in responsible areas.
5. Engage stakeholders in relevant EIA topics and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Collaborate with the Offshore Lead, Land Manager, and Commercial Development Manager as required by the Project Consent Lead.
7. Identify and communicate consenting and wider project risks to the Project Consent Lead.

Requirements
* 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting or project management, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
* Strong understanding of EIA processes and procedures.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
* Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software quickly.
