Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to lead our Environmental & Sustainability team in delivering complex and rewarding projects across various sectors, including energy, infrastructure, and development.

About the Role

This role involves leading Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) processes, risk management, design input, coordinating interdisciplinary teams, and engaging with stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shape and support our business development to enhance our team's presence in key UK sectors, including energy, water, and sustainability.
  • Provide valuable advice to clients, develop relationships, and elevate and influence technical skills within the Environmental & Sustainability team.
  • Engage and lead a wide range of in-house technical experts and designers on large, complex, and rewarding projects to deliver environmental and sustainability objectives.
  • Offer technical guidance, support, and training to colleagues, as well as mentoring and assisting in their professional development.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Significant project experience in EIAs and/or SEAs.
  • A degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Relevant professional membership/qualifications.
  • A strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and EIA processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Client relationship management and work-winning experience.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for sustainability.

In return, we offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
