Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking organization, providing psychological interventions to children and young people with common mental health problems.
Job SummaryThis is an employment-based training role within the forming part of a NHSE, HEE and DoH initiative to expand the mental health workforce offering support to children and young people at an early stage of intervention. The successful candidate will undertake a 12-month training course at the University of Exeter, developing skills in brief evidence-based therapeutic interventions within a stepped care model.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver psychological interventions to children and young people with common mental health problems, including depression and anxiety disorders.
- Work under supervision to develop skills in brief evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Attend all university-based taught and self-study days required by the education provider.
- Work in the service for the remaining days of the week, using newly developed skills.
- Education to undergraduate degree level.
- Able to attend the formal training as required.
- Able to complete academic components of the course.
- Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem.
- Computer literate.
- Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care.
- Demonstrates an understanding of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and how it relates to this post.
