About the Role

Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Wellbeing Practitioner to join our CAMHS Gateway team. The successful candidate will work with children and young people to provide low-intensity cognitive behavioural interventions and contribute to the development of a new assessment and brief intervention service.

As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based interventions and make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in Dorset. You will be expected to work effectively in an inclusive and value-driven service, using your knowledge, attitude, and capabilities to support the needs of our service users.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, brief outcome-focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary community team to provide assessment and brief intervention services.
  • Use outcome measures to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make data-driven decisions.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, young people, and their families to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Requirements

  • Qualified as a Wellbeing Practitioner (WP CYP IAPT).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience of working with children and young people who experience mental health difficulties, particularly depression and anxiety.
