Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Safeguarding Children Advisor. This exciting opportunity is part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust's commitment to delivering high-quality care and safeguarding practice.

About the Role

This role is designed to support the Named Nurse in driving forward the safeguarding children agenda. Key responsibilities include providing guidance and advice to frontline staff, developing training programs, and supporting with monitoring practice and progression of improvement plans.

The successful candidate will have robust knowledge and experience in safeguarding children, effective communication skills, and the ability to provide positive challenge and support.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
  1. Support operational delivery of child protection within a clinical governance framework throughout the trust.
  2. Raise awareness of child protection practice throughout children's and adult services.
  3. Work with the Named Nurse for Children's safeguarding and the Specialist Safeguarding practitioner to lead development of child protection practice.
  4. Provide link between staff at ward level and the Safeguarding Team.
  5. Work in partnership with statutory, voluntary, and healthcare agencies.
  6. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care and interventions using advanced child protection knowledge.
