Job Purpose

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our client's team in the Leeds/Bradford area. As a key member of the management team, you will play a crucial role in delivering an effective fostering service that promotes positive outcomes for looked-after children.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will manage your own caseload while overseeing the recruitment, assessment, training, and support of foster carers.
  • You will implement and monitor safeguarding practices to protect children's welfare and comply with statutory requirements.
  • You will provide training and ongoing support to foster carers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the children in their care.
  • You will maintain accurate and up-to-date case records to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • You will work closely with other professionals, including social workers, education staff, and healthcare providers, to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A social work qualification (BA or MA)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Proven experience in fostering or child protection
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child welfare issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
