Safeguarding Social Worker Role

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to join our safeguarding team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child and family support, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement effective safeguarding strategies;
  • To work closely with other agencies and professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users;
  • To provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on safeguarding policies and procedures;
  • To contribute to the development of strategies and plans to improve outcomes for service users;
  • To maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality requirements.

Our Requirements:

  • A recognised social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work) and HCPC registration;
  • At least 2 years of post-qualified experience in a safeguarding role;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with service users, carers, and other stakeholders;
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Children Act 1989 and the Care Act 2014;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritising tasks and managing workload effectively;
  • Familiarity with electronic record systems and Microsoft Office applications.
