About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students with Special Educational Needs in a classroom setting.

With a background in healthcare, you will bring a unique perspective to the role, ensuring students receive tailored support to succeed in their education. Your experience in healthcare will enable you to understand the individual needs of students and assist with their physical, emotional, and medical care where necessary.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting students with a variety of SEN, including autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and emotional/behavioural needs
  • Working closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to students' learning
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support, ensuring students are fully engaged in lessons
  • Assisting with personal care, mobility, and any medical needs using your healthcare expertise
  • Promoting positive behaviour and creating a safe, supportive environment for learning
  • Liaising with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent care and progress

We are looking for someone with a healthcare background, preferably with experience in roles such as nursing, care assistance, occupational therapy, or any other role that has given them experience with personal care and supporting others.

A recognised Childcare-based qualification is preferred but not essential. The candidate must be able to provide two professional child-related references that cover the last two years.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A healthcare background, preferably with experience working in roles such as nursing, care assistance, occupational therapy, or any other role that has given them experience with personal care and supporting others
  • A recognised Childcare-based qualification is preferred but not essential

We offer a competitive salary of £85.10 per day, paid hours from 08:30 to 15:00, and a full-time contract with a start date ASAP. We also offer opportunities for professional development and growth within the company.
