GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Support Professional to join their dynamic team.

As an ASD Support in School, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping them engage with the curriculum and thrive in an inclusive learning environment.

We are looking for someone with experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs, who has a deep understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and a commitment to supporting students with additional needs.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing individualised learning and behaviour plans, encouraging positive social interactions, and assisting with sensory and emotional regulation techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored assistance to students with ASD, promoting their engagement and participation in class activities.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning and behaviour plans in coordination with the teaching team.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and help students with ASD develop essential communication skills.
  • Assist with sensory and emotional regulation techniques to enable students to manage their environment effectively.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs is essential.
  • A deep understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and a commitment to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to work effectively in a school environment.
