About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Needs Teacher to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to students, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to create comprehensive support plans for students with SEN.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up to date.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in SEN education.
  • Previous experience of working in a SEN school setting.
  • Strong understanding of different SEN needs and effective strategies for supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Dedication to promoting inclusion and equality in education.

About the School:

The school is a special school for children aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties, often linked to special educational needs such as autism. The classes typically have seven pupils each, supported by high staffing levels. Facilities include purpose-built classrooms, a sensory room, therapy hub, quiet rooms, food technology kitchen, creative learning room, sports hall, outdoor play areas, a large playground, an outdoor learning area, and a courtyard garden.
