Job Title: Technician

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our IT Department at Silver Arrow Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our internal customers.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT and experience working with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and Windows 10 & 11. You will be responsible for maintaining our organisation's infrastructure systems, providing technical assistance to remote workers, and ensuring the security and integrity of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing first-line support and technical assistance to internal customers
  • Maintaining the organisation's infrastructure systems in line with IT procedures
  • Providing technical assistance to remote workers using PDAs and other computer equipment
  • Quick response to 3rd party/supplier network/system failures
  • Maintaining system security and integrity
  • Working with third-party application Engineers to design, build, test and update EDI interfaces
  • Liaising with suppliers to provide appropriate technical solutions
  • Attending remote sites from time to time (driving license required)
  • Monitoring all incoming and outgoing EDI processes and resolve any import/export failures by liaising with suppliers and third-party vendors to resolve all business issues
Requirements:
  • Router configurations, networking and security
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2016, 2019
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10 & 11
  • Microsoft Office 2016 onwards, including Office 365 and SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of mobiles and PDAs
  • Active Directory
  • Remote Desktop
  • DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP
  • Experience with SFTP user setup and support
  • At least 2 years previous experience of working within a 1st line / 2nd line support role
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities to short time frames
