Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing and leading a team of pharmacy technicians to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of pharmacy services.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to ward-based technicians on pharmacy practice, policy, and procedure.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of pharmacy services, including workflow redesign and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, including budget monitoring and financial analysis.
  • Participating in performance improvement activities, such as audits and quality improvement projects.
  • Collaborating with other departments and teams to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Staying up-to-date with current best practices and developments in pharmacy, including regulatory requirements and clinical guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified pharmacist or registered pharmacy technician with relevant post-registration experience.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Experience of working in a hospital pharmacy setting, with knowledge of pharmacy practice and policy.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to use software applications, such as Excel and PowerPoint.
