About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist in Health and Social Care Services to join our team at Islington Council.

As a Specialist in Health and Social Care Services, you will be responsible for providing specialist medical advice to support the council's housing application process.

Your main objective will be to assess medical circumstances and their relevance to applicants' housing needs, ensuring that the council fulfills its statutory obligations. You will work closely with the council's Housing Allocation Scheme team to provide expert advice and guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing medical circumstances and their relevance to applicants' housing needs
  • Providing specialist medical advice to ensure accurate assessments of circumstances
  • Developing and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 and related legislation
  • Collaborating with the council's Housing Allocation Scheme team to deliver effective housing solutions

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in health and social care services
  • Strong understanding of the Housing Act 1996 and related legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
