Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Education and Early Years Assessor to join our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting and motivating young people into employment, whether in Primary Education or Early Years.

As a key member of the Education and Early Years team, you will work closely with colleagues to support students in achieving their workplace assessments and qualifications. You will be responsible for planning and carrying out work placement assessments against nationally recognised standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and carry out work placement assessment against nationally recognised standards.
  • Assess students on placements to make assessment judgements which are mapped to competencies.
  • Formulate action plans with individual students so they are prepared for their placement assessments and understand any developments needed.
  • Ensure timely achievement of placement assessments enabling students to reach their potential of Early Year Practitioner or Assisting Teaching Practitioner.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, confident and able to build an engaging learning relationship with students.
  • Knowledge and understanding about the role of teaching assistants and early years practitioners.
  • Able to work independently using own initiative whilst visiting work placements, remote working and college based working.
  • Possess a passion and ability to inspire and motivate young people to become our future education and childcare workforce.

  • Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
  • Annual leave entitlement - 30 days holiday plus bank holidays and up to 5 discretionary closure days at Christmas (pro rata for part time staff).
