We are excited to announce a brand-new educational provision in Wolverhampton designed to support up to 80 pupils aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Job Description

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students with their learning and overall well-being, ensuring every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

You will:

  1. ">
  2. Provide support to children with their educational and personal development needs, fostering a warm and caring relationship to help them feel safe and engaged in their learning.">
  3. Assist with care needs and positive behaviour management, adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of each child.">
  4. Encourage independence and personal growth in pupils while maintaining high expectations for behaviour.">
  5. Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities that help pupils achieve their full potential across all areas of learning.">
  6. Be flexible and ready to assist with various tasks as needed in this dynamic SEN environment.">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">

To be considered for this role, you will need:

">
  • ">
  • Experience working with children with SEN, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.">
  • A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle (desirable).">
  • GCSEs in Maths and English at Level 3 or above (essential).">
  • A recognized qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools, or an equivalent (desirable).">
  • A strong understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.">
  • The ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment.">
  • A positive and creative approach to meeting the individual needs of pupils.">
  • A commitment to putting the child first and treating each pupil as an individual.">
