About the Role

Liverpool John Moores University is a pioneering institution with a strong presence in the Liverpool City Region and a global footprint. Our students and staff are the driving force behind our city's growth and development, and we're seeking an exceptional leader to join our School of Education.

We're looking for an experienced and innovative leader to oversee our Primary Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programmes, which lead to a qualification in teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for nurturing and developing these programmes, as well as our relationships with partner primary schools.

The School of Education is renowned for its high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate provision, as well as its growing reputation for international partnerships and cutting-edge educational research. Our Primary ITE programmes have a strong focus on student experience and the development of socially engaged teachers.

We're seeking a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the ITE environment and a proven track record in the sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the UK teacher education landscape, including policy and funding demands, and be able to respond to the specific challenges of the sector.

The successful candidate will join our vibrant School and Mount Pleasant Faculty at a pivotal moment in our growth and development. We're seeking an outstanding individual who can design and deliver highly effective Primary programmes, lead on promotion and recruitment, and evaluate and develop these programmes in accordance with quality assurance processes.
