Primary Care Physician

Job Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care, making professional decisions in relation to presenting problems.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, providing timely interventions.
- Cover all clinical management of patients in surgery, including investigations, reviewing results, and referrals.
- Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients, adhering to current Practice disease management protocols and NICE guidance.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up of patients, maintaining accurate records.
- Participate in clinical audits and learning event analyses, contributing to practice meetings.
- Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, avoiding handwritten prescriptions.
- Prescribe generically whenever appropriate, adhering to the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance, and Good Prescribing Practice.
- Work collaboratively with other primary healthcare team members, providing support and expertise.
- Contribute to the practice achieving agreed and other key performance indicator targets.
Professional Development
- Engage in ongoing personal and professional development, reviewing and developing the role and responsibilities.
- Adhere to organisational policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safeguarding, lone working, information governance, equality, diversity, and inclusion training, and health and safety.
Miscellaneous
- Establish strong working relationships with GPs and practice teams, working collaboratively and respecting each other's views.
- Demonstrate a flexible attitude, being prepared to carry out other duties as required, ensuring timely and effective work delivery.
- Contribute to the wider aims and objectives of the PCN to improve and support primary care.
