About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Liverpool FC Foundation team as a Primary Stars Coordinator. This exciting new role will support the delivery of the Premier League Primary Stars Programme, working closely with primary schools across Merseyside to inspire children to learn, be active, and develop important life skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate a wide range of sports and educational activities for young people and adults in primary school settings.
  • Support teachers to improve their confidence in running PE lessons, provide educational activations and interventions, and work as part of a team across mass participation events.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to quickly respond to changing priorities and support the PL Primary Stars and WE Empower teams as needed.
  • Assist in the development and growth of the LFC Foundation through activities and roles outside of the Primary Stars Programme.
  • Update the LFC Foundation's reporting database and take responsibility for the delivery of the Premier League Primary Stars Programme in designated schools.
  • Plan and prepare prior to each session, using PL Primary Stars templates, and ensure careful consideration is given to all abilities, ages, and SEND requirements.
  • Deliver interventions on various topics to a high standard, across a range of ages and abilities, and ensure all activities are delivered in line with the current primary school curriculum and OFSTED guidelines.
  • Work closely with primary school teachers to provide support and advice, improve their confidence to deliver PE, and organise and run teacher training workshops.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with LFC partner schools and their key staff, including head teachers, PE coordinators, and receptionists.
  • Liaise directly with partner schools to support and promote additional LFC activities, collect monitoring and evaluation documentation, and assist in the upkeep of VIEWS online monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ensure all activities are correctly monitored, with appropriate risk assessments and health and safety measures in place.
  • Be willing to improve through CPD and courses, and understand safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Deliver bespoke interventions to individuals or cohorts, support holiday camps and half-term activations, and support other LFC Foundation programmes with their female engagement.

Requirements

  • A passion for young people, the community, and making a positive impact.
  • A proven track record of delivering sports coaching in schools, to young people of all ages and abilities, including previous experience of teaching.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the PE national curriculum across KS1 and KS2, and an understanding of different teaching and learning styles.
  • A sound understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion, and its application in the role of coach, as well as awareness of safeguarding issues when working with children and young people.
  • Essential qualifications include a 1st 4sport Level 3 certificate in supporting the delivery of physical education, a 1st 4sport Level 2 award in multi-skills development in sport, AFPE Level 3 or a minimum of QTS qualification, and a Level 1 (or higher) qualification in safeguarding young people.
  • Desired teaching qualification.
