Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Community Engagement Worker to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health. As a Community Engagement Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with vulnerabilities, including mental health, substance misuse, learning difficulties, neurodiversity, homelessness, and the Criminal Justice System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide community-based support and advocacy services to individuals with vulnerabilities.
  • Work closely with the Criminal Justice Services and Voluntary sector to ensure seamless referrals and signposting.
  • Support and promote recovery from vulnerabilities and challenges, using a user-led approach.
  • Act as an advocate for individuals, agreeing goals and supporting access to relevant services.
  • Provide emotional and practical support to individuals, using your own experiences to inspire hope and belief in living well.

Requirements

  • Relevant lived experience of vulnerabilities, such as mental health, substance misuse, or homelessness.
  • Experience of support work, either paid or voluntary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
