Job Title: Head of Biomedical Operations

Sodexo, a leading provider of healthcare services, is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to lead our Biomedical Operations team. As Head of Biomedical Operations, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical device maintenance and management services to our customers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Biomedical Engineering team, ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive medical device service delivery function, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Manage budgets and revenue associated with biomedical engineering contracts, focusing on quality, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead on Health and Safety for the Biomedical Engineering Team, promoting a Zero Harm Mindset.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and produce monthly KPI reports to evidence service delivery.
  • Oversee the e-Quip Asset Management system, introducing innovation to drive efficiency.
  • Support new bids and improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Proven technical and managerial background in biomedical engineering, with experience in community and acute settings.
  • Passion for quality and continuous improvement, with a track record of successfully managing operations.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and manage large multi-skilled teams.
  • Sound educational background to Degree level or equivalent, with professionally qualified (I.Eng) or willingness to work towards registration.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal team members.
  • High level of knowledge and use of Excel, with experience in using equipment management databases and associated data analysis.
  • Strong financial awareness and management, with great PC skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence key decision makers.
  • Proven ability to plan and achieve results in difficult situations and in limited timeframes.
  • Proven experience of managing employees, addressing performance issues effectively, and motivating to maximise engagement.
  • Ability to robustly deliver continuous improvement and change where necessary.
  • Proven experience of holding others accountable for high performance, setting high standards and expectations of others, and challenging the status quo.
  • Ability to identify new opportunities and work as part of the Senior Management team to create growth.
