Claims Specialist

Job Summary:
Davies Group is seeking an experienced Liability Claims Handler to join our Casualty team. As a Claims Specialist, you will provide a quality claims service on behalf of clients and proactively handle claims in accordance with the insurer's claims handling philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
- To establish if cover is in place for the claim and ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- To record all claims on the digital claims-handling system and ensure that all Management Information (MI) data is consistently and accurately recorded.
- To investigate claims either directly via desktop, or by instructing loss adjusters and make decisions on liability.
- To negotiate claim settlements and build relationships with external clients and stakeholders.
- To attend client claim review meetings either in person or on the Microsoft Teams platform.
Requirements:
- Liability Claims Handling experience and a professional and adaptable communication style – both written and verbal.
- Efficient administrative skills and strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
- A proactive attitude, enthusiastic approach, and excellent customer service manner.
- The ability to work as part of a team, take individual responsibility, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions, indemnity processes, modern claims practice, and current case law.
