Davies is seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our growing Casualty team. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for providing a first-class proactive claims handling service to major clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Handling: Handle allocated claims, either from your desk or by referring them to a field adjuster for on-site investigation when necessary.
- Liaison and Communication: Communicate with insurers, policyholders, and brokers to ensure seamless claims handling.
- Evidence Gathering: Obtain all relevant evidence and documentation to support claims resolution.
- Resolution and Reporting: Determine appropriate actions to resolve each case and prepare detailed reports advising on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and tactics as needed.
- Negotiation and Settlement: Negotiate settlements within agreed authority limits and maintain proactive communication with all parties involved.
- Adherence to Procedures: Handle cases according to documented procedures and client requirements.
- Reserve Management: Regularly review and maintain proper reserves.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on technical changes relevant to your role, including participating in company-facilitated training programs.
Requirements:
- Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in managing Claims from cradle to grave.
- Experience managing Property Claims.
- Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Collaborative team player.
- Management of personal caseload.
- Demonstrated adaptability and versatility.
- Desirable Skills:
- Experience with the investigation of Liability Claims.
- Knowledge of how to value injury claims.
- Familiarity with reserving strategies.
- Exceptional communication abilities across various levels.
