As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for handling allocated claims, either from your desk or by referring them to a field adjuster for on-site investigation when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaison and Communication: Establish and maintain effective relationships with insurers, policyholders, and brokers.
  • Investigation and Evidence Gathering: Obtain all relevant evidence and documentation to support claims handling.
  • Resolution and Reporting: Determine appropriate actions to resolve each case and prepare detailed reports, advising on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and tactics as needed.
  • Negotiation and Professional Correspondence: Negotiate settlements within agreed authority limits and maintain proactive communication with all parties involved.
  • Adherence to Procedures and Continuous Learning: Handle cases according to documented procedures and client requirements, and stay updated on technical changes relevant to your role.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proficiency in managing Claims from cradle to grave.
  • Experience managing Property Claims.
  • Understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Management of personal caseload.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and versatility.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with the investigation of Liability Claims.
  • Knowledge of how to value injury claims.
  • Familiarity with reserving strategies.
  • Exceptional communication abilities across various levels.
