Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Claims Specialist to join our Casualty team at Davies Group. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a quality claims service to our clients and proactively handling claims in accordance with our claims handling philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To establish if cover is in place for the claim and ensure that all necessary information is obtained.
  • To record all claims on our digital claims-handling system and ensure that all MI data is consistently and accurately recorded.
  • To investigate claims either directly via desktop, or by instructing loss adjusters and ensuring that all necessary documentation is obtained.
  • To make decisions on liability and negotiate claim settlements in a fair and timely manner.
  • To ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • To build relationships with external clients and stakeholders, providing excellent customer service and communication.
  • To attend client claim review meetings, either in person or via Microsoft Teams, to discuss claim progress and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Experience in liability claims handling, with a strong understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
  • A professional and adaptable communication style, with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Efficient administrative skills, with strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
  • A proactive attitude, with a willingness to take individual responsibility and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • An excellent customer service manner, with the ability to work as part of a team and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions, indemnity processes, and modern claims practice.
  • Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, MOJ protocols, and current case law.
