Company Overview

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Coding Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the coding process, ensuring accurate and timely data extraction, and providing exceptional support to the department.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A strong understanding of clinical coding rules and conventions is essential, along with good analytical skills and the ability to prioritize workload effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the coding process, ensuring accurate and timely data extraction.
  • Provide exceptional support to the department, including mentoring junior members of staff.
  • Ensure consistency of data on the Trust's PAS and EPR Systems.
  • Identify complex issues within clinical information contained in the electronic patient record system.
Requirements
  • NCCQ Accredited Clinical Coding Qualification.
  • GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent, or work-based experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy & physiology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £29,970 to £36,483 per annum, with an additional £4000 R&R payment over 12 months. Other benefits include a permanent contract, full-time working hours, and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
