Job Overview

CWP is seeking a talented Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist to join our Wirral CYPMHS Team within the Birch Centre, Birkenhead.

About the Role

The successful candidate will contribute to the redesign of community CAMHS services, implementing a new model of care that separates access components from Partnership work.

This role involves managing junior medical staff, ensuring they operate within parameters of the New Deal and Working Time Directive. The specialist will participate in service and business planning activities for the locality and whole mental health service.

You will attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme.

Maintaining professional registration with the General Medical Council and Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval are essential requirements for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to out-of-hours on-call rota
  • Manage, appraise, and give professional supervision to junior medical staff
  • Ensure junior medical staff operate within established parameters
  • Participate in service and business planning activities
  • Attend and participate in the academic programme
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must hold an MB BS or equivalent medical qualification, along with a qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.

Excellent clinical skills, using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge, are required. You should also possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
