Job Summary

We are seeking two Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our Wirral CYPMHS Team within the Birch Centre, Birkenhead. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the redesign of community CAMHS services in 2022, which included the implementation of a new model of care separating out Access components from Partnership work.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide clinical psychiatric input to the 0-18 Team.
  • To record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively within the Electronic Patient Record.
  • To contribute to the out-of-hours on-call rota.
  • To manage, appraise, and give professional supervision to junior medical staff as agreed between consultant colleagues and the medical director.
  • To ensure that junior medical staff working with the post holder operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant.
Requirements
  • Professional registration with the General Medical Council and Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval.
  • Maintenance of professional codes of conduct.
  • Participation in service and business planning activity for the locality and whole mental health service.
  • Attendance and participation in the academic programme of the Trust.
